TextAid is a multitasking application which has been designed to work alongside other applications on the RISC OS desktop to provide a variety of flexible text-handling operations. Facilities provided by TextAid include:

  • Multiple text macro definitions
  • The ability to transfer text to and from icons and window titles
  • Auto-deletion of marked text or text in icons before the insertion of new text
  • Printer control codes (bold, italic etc.) in applications which do not normally support such codes
  • Conversion between CSV, TSV and plain text files
  • Direct communication with supporting applications
  • TextAid is included on this CD by permission of Rheingold Enterprises

    This is a previously unreleased beta version of TextAid that saves its macro definitions with a user filetype (&0E5); development was abandoned before a proper filetype allocation was requested. This version is believed to be stable, but should be treated with mild caution.
